Knoxville voters have had their say, and five new faces are set to join the ranks of the Knoxville City Council.

The results from the general election are in.

Five city council seats are up for grabs, and all registered Knoxville voters could cast their ballot in each of the contested districts.

The winners and their comments are as follows:

District 1- Nick Pavlis

"I just think we have to look at the codes enforcement there, and we need to strengthen that up and just get it to where people want to move back in the first district instead of moving out of the first district."

District 2- Duane Grieve

"What has been interesting is going through the different neighborhoods and learning about the different neighborhoods. I think what we're going to have to do is just take a few days and rest from the campaign and then decide what's going to be needed and what we can do to help."

District 3- Brenda Palmer

"Working with all kinds of communities will really serve as a great foundation to do good work and work with my new fellow councilmen and women in Knoxville. I'm excited."

District 4- Nick Della Volpe

"It's a good feeling you know. We worked hard at it, and the voters have the ultimate say. We are going to hit the ground running and try and get things done."
